CHARACTER
Character Name: Yukio Okumura
Age: 16
Species: Human??? (half-demon)
Canon: Blue Exorcist
Canon Point: Mid-Chapter 93
Character Info: a wiki
Personality: Yukio is the responsible one. He's the one at the top of the class, the one who gets an academic scholarship to one of the best schools in the country, the one who manages to maintain his grades while also teaching exorcism classes. He's the serious, polite, independent, hardworking prodigy, the one who never gets in trouble and always stays on top of his responsibilities. (This is, of course, all in contrast with his delinquent, barely-finished-middle-school, constant screw up shonen hero twin brother, Rin, who Yukio actually massively envies and resents). He's friendly but distant with classmates and coworkers, projecting an air of independent maturity that results in his coworkers and students respecting him and his classmates thinking he's cool.

As you can probably guess, this means Yukio is the sort of person who's going to stress himself into an early grave.

It's not that he took the weight of the world on his shoulders so much as he was placed into a position of responsibility at a very early age due to the circumstances of his birth (he's one of the sons of Satan and he was raised by the top exorcist in the world). Because Yukio was able to see demons from birth, he was qualified to fight them from a very early age, and because Rin couldn't see demons and didn't know they were children of Satan, Yukio was forced to keep that massive part of his life from his twin brother. Add to that secrecy a strained relationship with an adoptive father who refused to answer basic questions like "why didn't you kill us at birth like you were supposed to", and Yukio has grown up independent and self-reliant to a fault. He tries to keep his emotions entirely under control, presenting a level, calmly smiling front no matter what he's actually feeling, which occasionally leads to apparently random outbursts of anger. He doesn't trust anyone enough to open up to them, he believes that no one can really understand another person (and by extension, no one can really help anyone else), and on some level he doesn't think other people can even really take care of themselves. He's the sort of person to come up with a convoluted plan and not tell anyone about it until after he's implemented it.

Not that Yukio is entirely serious and responsible and stressed out all the time (just most of it). He's awkward around girls and doesn't really know how to respond to their frequent crushes on him, he blushes and stammers and flails around when he gets flustered, he sometimes goes to stupid extremes to (successfully) maintain his cool image. He likes having friends even if he doesn't know how to trust them, and in groups he's comfortable in he'll go along with silly ideas like posing in absurd ways for pictures or crossdressing to deal with a ghost (as long as no one's getting hurt). His competitive nature is just as likely to show itself in games with friends as it is in serious situations. He has a sense of humor, and likes reading comedy manga.

He just needs to learn to trust people more.

Abilities:
Exorcist skills:
Yukio is qualified to be both a Doctor (an exorcist who specilizes in treating demonic injuries and illnesses) and a Dragoon (an exorcist who uses firearms to take down demons). He also has general knowledge about demons, as expected of someone who is both a qualified exorcist and a teacher of exorcists.

As a Doctor, he can treat a wide variety of injuries (both mundane and demonic) in the field, and is extremely knowledgeable when it comes to medicines. He even teaches first-year Anti-Demon Pharmacology to the students at the exorcist cram school.

As a Dragoon, Yukio is extremely good with firearms. His usual weapon is a pair of handguns, which he's proficient with to the point of shooting demons behind his back without looking at them, and keeping up with rapid attacks from multiple points at once. He's also a proficient sniper.

While Yukio is not certified as a Tamer (an exorcist who summons demons) he has been shown to be capable of summoning (specifically, he summoned multiple Naiads). His summoning ability is fairly limited, and only used when absolutely necessary for the completion of a plan in combat situations.

SHOOT I ALMOST FORGOT he can see demons, which is an abnormal thing in his world but required for exorcists.

Mundane abilities:
Yukio is extremely intelligent, to the point where people around him frequently refer to him as a genius. While other people his age are just starting out their exorcist carriers, he's already qualified in two Meisters, after having received his official exorcist license two years before the start of the series. He's also able to balance high grades in his high school classes with teaching Anti-demon Pharmacology at the exorcist cram school and working as an exorcist.

CARNIVAL
Soul Colour: Very, very blue
Ideal Jobs: Medic, Bouncer
Relevant Experience:
Medic: Yukio knows what he's doing when it comes to medical things, especially field medicine, herbalism, and anti-demon medicine. He's an expert at keeping calm under extreme pressure, and isn't upset by medical emergencies. Plus, he's an extremely fast learner, highly organized, and lbr if I can keep him in game long enough he's going to be gunning for that Doctor supervisor position.
Bouncer: You need somebody to throw a person out with a firm hand and a polite smile? Yukio can do that too.
Reason for Joining: Wandering lost into an empty Carnival when your entire world is falling apart is bizarre enough, but when Yukio's offered the chance to get (almost) anything he wants? Well, who could turn down the opportunity to gain immunity to demonic possession?
